Last week started off with a fantastic game at US Bank. I hadn't been to a Vikings game since the Metrodome was still standing, so to go to a game at the Bank was amazing. Yes, I had just been there one week earlier for YIM, but there's just a few more people there for an NFL game. We had a great time, and even enjoyed the super long time it took us to get out of the parking ramp. Best way to pass the time is by chatting and hanging out with a good friend!
Love all of the purple!
On Saturday night, Ava and enjoyed dinner at a new Indian restaurant by my work. It was so good, and the customer service was fantastic!
This week was another blur...there was so much to do, and not enough time. I had a few nights at home, but they were busy prepping for the days to come.
Apple cider and glazed donuts...a fall tradition from my childhood
Ava and the RHSMB left for St Louis early on Thursday morning. With the help of another trumpet parent and a few trumpet kiddos, we were able to track down all of the kids to give them their gift bags. Believe it or not, that was the most stressful thing I faced all week. I was incredibly anxious knowing that I was going to get to the school and HAD to find a parking spot at the same time that 2700 kids were going to be arriving. But, I prayed about it, and it all worked out. After that task was done, my bundle of nerves really calmed down.
That was even more stressful than knowing that on Friday night, we were hosting a sleepover party for G's 11th birthday, and we had four 5th grade boys rough-housing throughout the entire house. It was...a lot. They were loud and farty, and they wrestled and stomped. But, they also listened incredibly well, were so polite, and amazed me with their adult conversation. G was happy, his friends were happy, and Ava was probably happy that she was in STL and avoiding the chaos here!
As for Ava...the band performed in prelims at the BOA Super Regional on Friday night (the boys here for the party were quiet for 15 min while the RHSMB performed, because I told them I needed silence...and they listened!) Prelim awards were on Saturday afternoon, and Rosemount came in 3rd in Class 3A, and made it into finals. There were 71 bands in competition, and Rosemount is in the top 14 (top 7 in reality). Can't wait to see how they do in finals! Good luck, Irish!
This is such a busy season...in life, in school, in activities, etc. I'm looking forward to the holidays, since it'll calm down a bit, haha!
