Napping in the South Commons

You ever had one of those weeks (or two) that are just really productive, and you're getting lots of stuff checked off the ol' to do list? I've been feeling that way for the last several weeks. I'm hosting book club next weekend, and apparently that's been the kick that I needed to get to some much needed projects that have been sitting on our list of things to do. In turn, we had a good week! There was some volunteering, a little football cheering (love the Mama Kelce  storyline), some hearts and goodies were given, carpets were cleaned, the beagle got groomed, and I was in the (work) office for almost a full day, catching up with coworkers! It was a great week, capped off with G heading to Grandma Deb's for the weekend, and as a result, I got to spend more time with just Ava. She heads off to a friends valentine's party on Saturday night, so Scott and I will be enjoying a date night, and not worrying about the kiddos. I volunteered for a mattress fundraise

Hot Chocolate Bears

Besides the normal school, work, and extracurricular activities this week, I decided that we need to start tackling the craft kits that we have piling up in the house. The best kits are the ones that are also for consumable items, so we can enjoy the end results, and will not be left extra stuff to find a home for. This week, I was focused on making some bear-themed hot chocolate bombs. G was supposed to help me, but he disappeared while I was doing it, so it became a solo project. And that's ok! It would have been tricky to have four hands trying to make these. I had to melt down the chocolates, add them to the molds, and then let it chill for 15 minutes to harden  Fill half up with hot cocoa and marshmallows Melt the edges together, and pray that they don't pop open! Decorate! We immediately consumed the little bear bombs and had very happy tummies, full of hot chocolate and marshmallows. I've never seen Scott drink hot chocolate in the 23 years I've known him, but ev

Rose Parade, Part 3

It's like the trip that never ends! To be fair, it did feel like we were in California for a verrry long time. It was just a week, but I think the packed agenda and rainy weather brought forth non-relaxing moments that we normally wouldn't see in a vacation. And this is why it was a trip...not a vacation! Day 5, Sunday, January 1, 2023 Sunday was the one day where we didn't have any plans. Both G and I were really looking forward to a day where we weren't rushing to go here , or standing in line to go there . We slept in, ate a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, and as we were leaving, ran into a group of women who were in the RHSMB group with us. We were chatting about plans for the day (woohoo...NOTHING!) and they suggested checking out Downtown Disney. I thought we were done with Disney but when they explained that it was the shopping area between Disneyland and Adventure Park, and it was FREE, we jumped on it. I grabbed another round of tickets to ride the Anaheim/Di
