It Felt Like Summer for a Minute...

If we could just get rid of the cold and the rain, we could actually move into the next season. I'm not sure we had spring at all this year...maybe a few nice days, and then it reverted back to chilly temps and gray skies. BUT, we did just come out of an amazing weekend, so I think summer is right around the corner. Granted, it's 56 and rainy right now, but yesterday was great...sunny blue skies, and warm enough that we were able to plant all of the flowers and enjoy some nice time outside with my parents. Scott and my dad made a good effort to get the boat out on the water yesterday afternoon but every lake was packed. It was a perfect day to be out on the water! This past week wasn't quite as scheduled as it's been lately, so we had a bit of a break to spend some time at home and recover from the last few crazy busy weeks. My work let us out early on Friday afternoon, so we were able to head out of town at a decent time, so we could kick off the long weekend early

Busy like December...

...but without the holidays! That’s how I heard the month of May described to me the other week, and it is 100% accurate. It’s like a mad rush to squeeze everything in before the end of the school year and the freedom of summer! So, what have we been up to over the last two weeks? I attended the middle school parent meeting and learned all about the new school Ava will be going to next year. It’s hard to believe that she will no longer be in elementary school! It was great to get a feel for her new school...plus, she took a tour of the school in the last two weeks, as well. Students who are at the middle school now, but attended her elementary school last year, have come back to encourage the students and tell them how fun it is to be a 6th grader. I think she’s getting excited about it. We also managed to make it over to the school Spring Arts Night, and helped raise funds for the elementary school (good thing G will be there next year!) On the same day, Ava and the majority of th

This past week was exhausting. Too much fun stuff going on, and we didn't want to miss any of it! Last Saturday, my mom, Ava, and I took the light rail downtown to watch the Twins game. The 5th graders from Ava's school were singing the national anthem - and they did great (see video below!) We went downtown early and hit up Starbucks and walked around for a little bit before we needed to meet up with the group for the game. The seats were decent, the food/drinks were way too expensive, and the weather managed to keep it together so we weren't drenched...that was a big concern leading up to the game. We ended up staying until the 5th inning and hopped back on the light rail to head home. We finally had a chance to go out for a birthday dinner that night, so we needed to be back before the game was over. Train pics for G :) Totally loving her hot chocolate from Starbucks Yay Cardinals! We made it to Target Field! Nice view from our seats
