Jump Around!

By the end of last weekend, I was exhausted from parties and chauffeuring children. Ava was exhausted from a sleepover, and G was exhausted from (literally) jumping all around. Scott had been out of town, so he was exhausted from not sleeping well. So, we should probably pack in some more things to do, right?? Ava had fun at her two parties last weekend (one for the trumpet thirds, and one for a birthday sleepover.) It was strange having her gone both nights, but I'm getting used to it. That makes me a bit sad. G had fun at his three birthday parties, all at Rockin' Jump. By the end of the last party, I was ready to drive away and not come back for a very long time. They do a great job there, but man, it's a bit overstimulating (for me, not G.) G made this card for one of his friends...there's something about these little Minecraft faces that I think is SO adorable! The birthday boy is bouncing! Partying with his pals (and Ava!) Make a wish! All jumped out! I booked us

Let's Stay Outside!

The snow that we received over a week ago is gone, and now we've been in the 60's for a day or so. This weather is confusing. But appreciated, since it gives us more time to soak up the sun and finish up stuff around the outside before winter truly comes. G participated in his school's fundraising fun run this past Wednesday. It was chilly, but the sun was out. Scott and I were both able to make it to watch him run 35 laps! The music was loud and fun, and the kids had a great time burning off their energy. I'm so happy that we have some flexibility with our work to be able to come to things like this. I was able to walk the final cool-down lap with him. Coming in for a high five! We took advantage of the nice weather on Saturday, and did the "story walk" in Central Park in our town. G enjoyed reading each of the "pages" to us as we spied them on our walk around the lake. I truly think Minnesota has the prettiest fall colors! Last night, Ava was able

Grand Champions!

The RHS Marching Band did it again...they performed incredibly well at the state championship last weekend; however, they had stiff competition, and ALL of the kids and bands performed well. It was amazing to see all of the kids come together and perform in US Bank Stadium (where the Vikings play.) Rosemount ended up ranking #1 in Class 4A (the largest schools), #1 for the state of Minnesota, and #1 in the overall championships!  But they're not done yet...this weekend, the RHSMB is heading to Waukee IA to play in an invitational, and the band is also getting ready for their national-level championships in Indy next month (aka "Grand Nats".) They placed in the semi-finals last year, so it'll be interesting to see how far they get this year. The cool thing about that performance is they will be up against bands from all over the country, and some of them are HUGE. Regardless, it'll be a great experience for Ava and a wonderful team-bonding event for the whole group

Negative!

Our little G was finally released from the guest room this week (he is such a stickler for rules that when Scott offered to let him hang out in the garage with him the night before isolation was over, G flat out declined. He didn't want to break the isolation rule. He's so much like me! HA!) In any case, he's got his freedom back and was able to go back to school on Thursday. He was very happy to be able to play with friends, and get outside of the small confines of that room. On the other hand...I think he was debating moving in there permanently if it meant he would get served all of his meals and have the chance to watch TV all day, lol.  Just to be extra safe, I tested him for COVID on Thursday morning before school, and it came back negative. He had such a mild case, thank goodness. And he did a great job with doing all of his homework, so the re-entry back to schoolwork, was fairly easy. He even managed to get a perfect score on his math and word study tests on the da

Happy #17!

Last Saturday, Scott and I were able to get away for a few hours and celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary. We were both pretty wiped out from the long day, so it was a low-key celebration, but it was nice to get out and try a new restaurant. We knew that G was having a blast with Grandma Deb, and Ava was out with a friend (after the Rosemount HSMB festival), so we didn't need to rush to get home. I cannot believe we've been married for 17 years already! The time has flown by, and when I made that comment to Scott last week, his very sweet response was, "It hasn't been long enough." Awww... 💙 But, leading up to that evening, Ava and I were at RHS for most of the day. The RHSMB hosted their annual festival, where 16 other bands from MN and neighboring states performed their 2022 show. Since Rosemount was the host, they didn't compete, but performed in exhibition. So, no stress for high scores! I didn't really see Ava during the festival, but I know she wa
