This girl has attitude!

We had a really fun week...at swimming on Monday, Ava was dunked twice, and each time, she came up with a little grimace on her face, but she didn't cry. I think that's a good thing...at least she's getting used to the water and isn't crying like she was the first night.

My friend Lisa and I went to a really big consignment sale last Wednesday, and I managed to pick up a bunch of "new" clothes for Ava for the summer, and even some cute pieces for the fall. I only found one toy for her this time, so it was nice to spend most of the $$$ on clothes for her.

She's been walking around at daycare and on Saturday, she took 10 consecutive steps at home! I've been trying to catch some of it on video, but as soon as I turn it on, she likes to sit down and crawl to me. Kinda defeats the purpose!

Scott was gone overnight on Saturday, so Ava and I had all day and night to hang out together. We spent a lot of really good mama-daughter bonding time together. We went shopping, did laundry, napped, and played together. It was the perfect way to spend a chilly Saturday.

She was giving me attitude this morning with her Cheerios...that, or she wanted to eat what I was having (which was a bowl of Cheerios...hmmm...)

It's been a little cooler the last few days, so I wanted to squeak in a few more wearings of her winter clothes. She looks so tough in this hoodie! (Yeah, right!)

Here's a cute bubble-bath-beard after one of her recent bath/drinking sessions...she just loves slurping up those bubbles! Last night she found the drain, and kept poking her finger in it as it was draining...I thought kids were usually scared of the drain. Not this one, I guess!

It looks like it's going to be a lovely day today, so I'm hoping we spend most of it outside. Time to weed!

Love the bubble beard! And the "attitude" face. Dylan tried brats this weekend because he REALLY wanted what was on our plate. He loved them... that must be the reason I was craving them through my whole pg! I hope she'll walk for me on Sunday- maybe give Dylan a few pointers... maybe not! Maybe I'm not ready for walking just yet!

Goodbye Sweet Spanky

This is a post that I'm not very excited to write.  As you probably know, our oldest dog, Spanky, had struggled with health issues (ear infections, seizures) his whole life, and recently, his health had severely deteriorated.  He hadn't been eating, his ear infection was so severe his face was swollen, he had a hard time getting up the stairs, and he very rarely wanted to play.  Last week we got a few tail wags from him, and he ate a few bowls of food, but it was a 50-50 chance that he would actually keep the food down. On Thursday, we made the decision that if he wasn't any better by this weekend, we were going to put him down.  I know Scott didn't want to make that decision as Spanky was a very special dog to him - he truly was his little buddy, following him around everywhere, wanting to be wherever Scott was, and howling his sadness whenever Scott would leave him. Throughout Friday night, it became clear that Spanky wasn't going to have a miraculous recovery...

Grandparents, Birthdays, and Sprinklers, Oh MY!

What a whirlwind week we've had...I was trying to get everything wrapped up at work so I could take my 5-day "furlough" from last Wednesday, through tomorrow. Wednesday was my first day at home, so Ava and I had a ton of "fun" getting everything ready for the upcoming activities. I did have a wonderful massage, so that started my vacation off very well... Gramma Karen and Grampa Doug drove in from KC on Wednesday afternoon. We had a great evening catching up, and enjoying the nice weather (until the downpour that happened right as they were leaving our house!) On Thursday, Scott, Dad, Mom, and I drove down to Cannon Falls and Rochester to check out the areas for potential future homes/land for us. At some point, we'd like to move south of the Cities. Ava was a very good little girl, especially considering that she was stuck in a car for most of her FIRST BIRTHDAY!!! We went to Applebee's for lunch, and the wait staff came out singing to someone else...I...

We're Baaaaack!

Wow, I can't believe it's been almost 3 weeks since I've posted anything.  But, let's be honest - it's been a busy few weeks.  Clearly, I wasn't busy taking photos, as I only have 3 to show on this post.  Let's recap what's been going on in the Goers' household: New siding for our house...!  This is a project that we've been talking about doing for years, and we finally found someone that had the right product and the right price.  Our house is no longer a light peach color, it's Tuscan Clay with white accents.  It looks so shiny and fresh!  Now, we just need to work on our monster of a garage... I was in Palm Springs for eight, verrrrrry loooooong days.  I was staffing a travel program for one of my favorite clients, so at least I liked who I was supporting while there.  I hadn't traveled for work since May 2007, and honestly, I don't miss it.  I guess everything changes once you have a kid.  I missed Ava like crazy, and kept...
