Go, Go, Goers!

Last Sunday was the perfect day to explore an area that neither Arya nor I had been to before. We headed east to walk around the Vermillion Falls/River and Greenway area. The path was nicely paved, with lots of overhead shade from trees; there were so many families out on bikes and walking, and we had a nice view of the Vermillion River. Arya got some great pics, and I enjoyed spending time outdoors with my sweet girl. This weekend, G and I will be heading out to explore a creek area in a few towns just south of us. And I've already got an idea for another creek I want to walk by next month (it's a bit further away, and I'd rather put that aside until Arya is off at college) The tree leans to find the sun On the way home, we stopped at the DQ in another town (we have a love/hate relationship with the DQ in our town, so I wanted to avoid it.) You might wonder what this fruit showdown is...and I'll tell ya! The Savannah Bananas visited MN for the first time last weekend. Three sold-out games at Target Field, with 39,000+ fans at each game. Amazing! Their counterparts, the Party Animals and the Tailgaters, were in St Paul at CHS Field last August, but moving to Target Field was a huge difference and highlights how popular Bananaball is currently. Our same crew as last year (minus Tiff's daughter, Bel) went to the Savannah Bananas vs Loco Beach Coconuts this past Saturday night...and we had a blast! The players are true entertainers, with solid athleticism thrown in, just in case people don't think they actually play baseball. They do, and they work hard while having fun. We had perfect weather until the last 10 minutes of the game, when a light rainstorm broke out. I knew this part of summer was going to be busy, but it's been absolutely chaotic! But fun. G and I wrapped up our summer 5-movie adventure...we finished it off with Minions and Monsters, and then Spider-Man. It was such a fun activity that we looked forward to all summer! My mom, Arya, and I spent several days in Chicago recently. We took the Amtrak, which was a new method of transportation for us, and we learned so much about the rails. I would do things a little differently next time if we take the train again, but I'm so glad that we tried something new! Day 1: Wednesday, July 29 We started off the day with breakfast in St. Paul while we waited for our train (which was four hours delayed... yikes!) The train ride was uneventful, but we were all very happy to get to Chicago. We didn't eat dinner until 10:30pm that night. Thank goodness for DoorDash! Union Depot in St Paul Here we go!
