Happy Doggo

You know a dog is happy when she wags her tail in her sleep. I have never seen that happen until Pria came along!

We're counting down the days until school is over, and reveling in the warmer weather. G had a fun week with inflatables, and next week is all about yearbook signing and a pizza party! Ava, however, has finals on the last two days of school, so she doesn't get to celebrate quite yet. But soon!

Ava opted for just two baked potatoes for dinner...not a bad idea!

Checking out our pool on opening weekend
(Yes, it got much busier as the day went on, but we went early to avoid the crowds)

These cute little kiddos are fixed outside of our library, and G thought it would be nice to share his book with them.

We're winding down for the school year (mostly.) G had a fun week with inflatables, and next week is all about yearbook signing and a pizza party! Ava, however, has finals on the last two days of school, so she doesn't get to celebrate quite yet. But soon!

Super proud of Ava earning an Honor Letter in Band!

We have a relatively quiet weekend coming up, which is a good thing. We're trying to track down a company who can take care of a birds nest in our dryer vent line...our builder placed the dryer vent so high on the exterior wall that most companies don't have ladders high enough to reach it! Thankfully, Scott came up with a short-term solution, which allows me to at least use the dryer, without threat of burning the house down. Grateful for his creative mind!

Goodbye Sweet Spanky

This is a post that I'm not very excited to write.  As you probably know, our oldest dog, Spanky, had struggled with health issues (ear infections, seizures) his whole life, and recently, his health had severely deteriorated.  He hadn't been eating, his ear infection was so severe his face was swollen, he had a hard time getting up the stairs, and he very rarely wanted to play.  Last week we got a few tail wags from him, and he ate a few bowls of food, but it was a 50-50 chance that he would actually keep the food down. On Thursday, we made the decision that if he wasn't any better by this weekend, we were going to put him down.  I know Scott didn't want to make that decision as Spanky was a very special dog to him - he truly was his little buddy, following him around everywhere, wanting to be wherever Scott was, and howling his sadness whenever Scott would leave him. Throughout Friday night, it became clear that Spanky wasn't going to have a miraculous recovery...

Happily Ever After?

Lately, I've been adding to the Disney Princess movies in our collection.  Last week I bought Beauty and the Beast for Ava.  That was never a favorite movie of mine, but now that I've seen it several times in the last week, it's growing on me.  I figure this is a good chance for me to catch up on some of the stories that I missed out on! Watching all of these princess movies has me thinking about fairy tales...why is it that it's always the evil stepMOTHER?  Or the mom is dead, and no one has taken her place?  Very rarely is it the father who is evil, or dead.  This has actually come up as a topic in more than one conversation lately, and has me a bit intrigued.  Fairy tales are often not very happy - and usually someone dies at some point.  I was a giving an overview of Snow White to a friend of mine, and as I was going through the story, both of us were horrified at the message - mom dies, evil stepmother wants to murder her pretty stepdaugh...

We're Baaaaack!

Wow, I can't believe it's been almost 3 weeks since I've posted anything.  But, let's be honest - it's been a busy few weeks.  Clearly, I wasn't busy taking photos, as I only have 3 to show on this post.  Let's recap what's been going on in the Goers' household: New siding for our house...!  This is a project that we've been talking about doing for years, and we finally found someone that had the right product and the right price.  Our house is no longer a light peach color, it's Tuscan Clay with white accents.  It looks so shiny and fresh!  Now, we just need to work on our monster of a garage... I was in Palm Springs for eight, verrrrrry loooooong days.  I was staffing a travel program for one of my favorite clients, so at least I liked who I was supporting while there.  I hadn't traveled for work since May 2007, and honestly, I don't miss it.  I guess everything changes once you have a kid.  I missed Ava like crazy, and kept...
