Easter and Birthdays and Baseball!

Woowee, it was a busy week! We kicked off the week with an Easter celebration. Scott and I hid the eggs (filled with jelly beans) around the house so the kids could have fun with the traditional Easter egg hunt. We had a lovely breakfast, and then hosted dinner for my parents, Deb, and Scott's brother, Tim. The food was good and the company was even better. He is Risen! My birthday followed on Monday, and it was a truly fantastic day. The weather started off rainy, and then the skies cleared and the sun popped out. I picked up a birthday Starbucks, and headed over to LifeTime for a lifting class (and saw a friend in class - that was a fun surprise!) and then to their spa for an 80-min massage. It was SO nice. I enjoyed an amazing salad from their café, and then headed out to do some errands. After all of that, I still had an hour to relax at home before I picked up G (and our Twins tix) at school. Scott fixed me a lovely dinner, and I was happy and relaxed for bed. It was a perfect...

Growing Up!

We've hit the accelerated time of year where there's birthdays, parents days, multiple school activities, the desire to be outside more, etc etc etc. We've all got things to do and places to go! Last Saturday night, we headed to my parents house for an early birthday celebration (for me!) With my birthday the day after Easter this year, it would have been a little tricky to squeeze in a birthday dinner on the same night we're prepping to host Easter dinner the next day. As usual, it was wonderful spending time with my parents, and per my (and Ava's request), my mom made me the bunny cake for my birthday. Whenever my birthday is near Easter, it's a fun (and unique) way to celebrate! Ava started her elementary mentoring class this week. She headed back to her elementary alma mater, and is observing the art teacher for the next several weeks. She has also been recognizing some of the youngest kids from the daycare where she works. So far she's really enjoying i...

Spring Events

What a wonderful and busy time it's been so far this spring. Last weekend, my mom and I headed down to Cannon Falls for the "girls shopping getaway day". It's always so much fun to take a little road trip and spend time with her. I bought some amazing things (my mom is on a shopping freeze for Lent), and then she took me out to lunch. Yum! We also watched Yental (Deb's sweet dog) on Saturday, as Deb was moving out of her home into a new one. Moving is not a fun activity, but Deb's new home will be a lovely fit for her once she's all settled in! Pria loves laying on Ava's bed On Thursday night, G and I headed to the Red Pine Spring Arts Night, where he promptly ditched me to hang out with friends. Luckily, Ava was meeting us there. She will be shadowing the art teacher at Red Pine, so this was a great chance for Ava to meet her prior to the mentoring that begins next week. Spring Arts Night is a really big deal...every student has art work on the walls ...

So Many Movies!

It was a busy week of movies! I went to three movies in a one-week period. Yikes. Same theater for all three movies, and same seat for two of the movies, and exactly one row difference for the 3rd movie. The next movie will be coming up on April 13, and then I'll probably take a little break. Whew. On Thursday night, I went to The Chosen, part 2 (three hours on a Thursday night after a long day of work and then barre class was a lot...not sure I could do it again. I'm grateful I can watch this again when it streams in a few months...I might have snoozed for a little bit!) On the same night (Thursday), Ava and Aaron also went to the movies (Minecraft Movie.) I looked for Bernice and parked by her so she wasn't so lonely in the parking lot. :) And then on Friday night, G, Steve, and I went to the Minecraft Movie. Fun times, and so much popcorn! In other news, I made a great breakfast earlier this week...Greek yogurt and raspberry and lemon granola, along with avocado toast, t...
