Go, Go, Goers!

Full disclosure that I'm writing this on Christmas Eve. I think we're going to be a little bit too busy for the rest of the weekend to squeeze in time to post to this blog! George has been bringing G some super cute props this year...let's take a look to see what he did this week! Day 20: December 19 "Look, I decorated your house!" Day 21: December 20 "Best Toy Maker" Day 22: December 21 "Can you get a hole in one?" G drew a picture of George...it makes me giggle! Day 23: December 22 I love this little set...it's going to join my décor in the future! Day 24: December 23 George left G a Wilderness Scavenger Hunt list and a tiny backpack...this will be fun in the spring! Day 25: December 24 This is it...our time to say goodbye. This note from George gives G permission to hug him today, as he won't need his magic to fly back home on Christmas Eve...Santa will take him when he visits our house! This week felt so long, and it took forever to...

Another wonderful holiday week has wrapped up. We're stuffed with cookies and cocoa, surrounded by snow, and spending quality time with the family and Christmas flicks!  George continues to visit us every night...and surprise us with his daily settings! Day 13: December 12 "Can you still hear Santa's sleigh bell?" Appropriate question since we had just watched Polar Express! Day 14: December 13 "Snowball fight!" Day 15: December 14 "Can you color something beautiful for Santa?" Here's G's lovely snowflake he drew for Santa with the tiny little colored pencils George brought! Day 16: December 15 "Brrrrr, it's chilly in here!" Day 17: December 16 G and I had fun playing a round of skeeball (the balls are in the back so they wouldn't roll all over) Day 18: December 17 "Let's sing Christmas Carols!" The tiny harmonica really works! Day 19: December 18 "Dreaming of a white Christmas" Gah, the little work...

As we get closer to Christmas, the more focused we are on doing fun, holiday activities. The remaining bucket list items are shrinking each day, and yes, it's stressful for me, but I'm hopeful that my family is able to enjoy the moments, and will remember the memories that we're making during these busy times! Let's catch you up on the Adventures of George... Day 6: December 5 "Go, Santa, Go!" Day 7: December 6 "Wanna play cards?" Day 8: December 7 "Tetherball Champion" also...neither kid knew what tetherball was, so that was fun to explain... Day 9: December 8 Hanging out in the floatie...we used the "magical glove" to move George onto the floatie, after we determined he wasn't going to sink! Day 10: December 9 "Up, Up, and Away!" (hard to tell, but George is hanging from a candy cane balloon) Day 11: December 10 "Let's shuffle" Another game that I still don't know how to explain to the kids...but ...

Little G is well on his way to being fully vaxxed from COVID. I'm glad we didn't wait to get his series started, especially with case counts increasing. I know the vax isn't perfect, but it helps provide an extra layer of protection...both for him, and the people around us. He was a little nervous for his 2nd jab, but he took it like a champ, and even struck up a conversation with one of the volunteers he remembered from his first shot. They had a nice little chat about Animal Crossing. Advent started this past Sunday, so it's been a bit of a blessing to take 15 min each night, light a candle, listen to specific music, admire some art, and then read a passage and prayer. It's a new (to me) way to usher in the holiday season, and not have the focus be all about Santa and the gifts. It's a helpful way to refocus on what is yet to come.
