Go, Go, Goers!

I am way behind on our blog, here, but, to be fair, it's been a busy month! Scott and I went to Cancun for 6 days with a group of friends, and had a wonderful time. It was so nice to be in the sun, and be warm. It's about this point every year that the Minnesota winters seems to drag on and on and on...! Ava had a wonderful week with Grandma Deb - she was an absolute angel for her. Scott and I were so happy to hear that! We did miss her while we were in Mexico, but we knew she was in good hands, so we didn't worry about her. As we landed in MSP, Scott called Deb and asked her to keep Ava up until we got home (around 9pm). She was so excited when she saw us walk through the front door. She's started to do a hand-clapping thing when she's excited and happy, so those little hands were clapping away when we came in! Although, now that we have her, we're a lot more aware of kids in general, and the poor parenting skills that we see some parents exhibit. For example, ...

This will probably be the last blog entry before Scott and I go to Mexico. I've been busy all week making sure that Ava will have everything she needs while she is at Grandma Deb's. At least my organizational skills are being put to good use! Scott and I were talking about how much we're going to miss Ava while we're gone. BUT, I do think it will be a wonderful thing for us to spend some adult time together. Tonight the three of us (and Lucky) laid on our bed, and just spent some good time together. Ava and I were both laying on Scott's chest, and Ava kept poking at my face, and pulling on my hair. Scott was tickling her, and I was making faces at her, and she was just giggling away. It was really sweet, and I'm sure it'll be a memory I hold onto for a very long time. A few nights ago, Scott trapped Ava on the couch, so I had to take some pics. Ava isn't quite looking at the camera in the 1st one, but Scott is. And he's bigger, so he wins. :) As for ...

Ava has a horrible, horrible diaper rash we've been trying to get rid of for 2 weeks now. We've been to the doctor, who prescribed some medicine. However, that didn't seem to work, so we're using what the pharmacist recommended...it looks better today, however, it was so bad that it was bleeding. And Ava was crying, which makes it so much harder for me. But, as my dad so kindly put it, "She'll get rid of it when she's out of diapers!" That's too far away for me! Scott and I also booked our trip to Mexico - we're leaving on Feb 8 and returning on Feb 14. Ava will be spending the week with Grandma Deb. I'm not sure who's more excited - us because we're going somewhere warm, or Deb because she gets Ava for a whole week! This will be nice to just get away and have a chance for some baby-free time. :) It's halftime for the Superbowl right now, so I better run. Enjoy that warm weather!
