All About G!

With marching band in full swing, Ava flits in and out, and large chunks of time go by where she is not at home. So, lucky G...he gets all of the attention! To be fair, I had a very busy week, as well, so Scott and G spent a lot of time together at night. He got his blue belt in taekwondo! We also got something blue...a "new" car for Ava! Her name is Bernice. :) G had a really fun week, full of field trips, hosted by the city of Rosemount. He went to a new ninja gym, Skateville, Nick Universe at the MoA, and finally Grand Slam. He had a blast, and met a few new friends. Next week, it's back to Summer Power. On Thursday night, G and I went to the RHSMB family picnic, and then I went back at the end of the night to watch rehearsal. Ava didn't move the entire time I was there...all of the choreo was for other people. I took the day off on Friday (glad I missed the whole Microsoft issue - yikes!) and G and I spent the day together. We went out to breakfast, checked out th

Backyard Shenanigans

Last Saturday, G and I tackled a new craft project...Mini Brands Master Chef. We each completed a "meal" prep, in miniature mode! G worked on a raspberry mouse, while I prepared a lamb chop dinner. It was a pretty neat little craft, and we had a blast putting them together, learning how to harden the resin...they look so real! We also enjoyed the pleasant weather with a s'mores session. When G was done with the treats, he played for a bit in the backyard. The next night, Scott and G took the RZR for a ride around the neighborhood, and even for a spin through the backyard. These guys had so much fun! Ava was busy all week with marching band rehearsals, and I popped in a few times to watch and take on a new role (admin for the trumpet parents.) The kids learned so much during their first full week, and I can't wait to see how much the progress in the weeks to come! On Friday night, we wrapped up the long week with a family viewing of Despicable Me 4. Yes, even though he

Sunshine and Smiles

Last Sunday was a lovely morning, and I opted to sit outside with my latte and enjoy the sunshine and warmth. We've had so many rainy days lately, so we try to spend time outside when the weather is warm and dry! Ava's done with TKD for several months until after marching band is done, so it's down to just taking G to class. His goal was to get his final stripe for purple, and then get his first stripe for blue, by the time Ava rejoins the class in November. The first goal is done, so now he can focus on the blue belt progression!  Ava's bf and bff are both gone this week, so we've seen a lot of her around the house - hooray! Marching band hits the ground running next week, so I'm glad this past week had some good downtime relaxation for her. She's been applying to jobs around town, but no luck yet... It was rainy all day on Thursday, so the majority of July 4th events were cancelled. Instead, Apple Valley had their fireworks show on Friday night, so G and I
