Easter...a little late!

Where did April go?  Last I checked, it was Good Friday, and now it's going to be May next week.  Granted, I knew coming in to April that it was going to be a busy month, but I didn't think it would fly by quite so quickly! Easter was very fun this year!  We had a hard time keeping Ava out of the rest of the house until all of the eggs were ready to be found.  I was a little concerned about the dogs getting into the candy-filled eggs, but we managed to keep things under control (and out of doggie mouths.) Ava had a BLAST looking for all the eggs. I'm so happy that I counted the eggs before I hid them, as the last one was REALLY hard to find - I hid it too well!  But, I need to give her some credit - she looked in places that I thought would have been too hard for her to locate.  Next year...it's on!  Let's see how good her tracking skills really are! My favorite place that she looked was UNDER Darla.  More than once, she went up to Dar, and tried to get under

We're Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo!

We didn't have daycare yesterday (Good Friday), so Ava and I decided to head to the Minnesota Zoo to meet up with some friends.  It was, literally, a zoo there!  We stood in line for 30 minutes just to get INTO the zoo!  I was pretty happy with how patient Ava was...I was beginning to get a little nutty, so I'm happy she held it together for the two of us. Once we got in though, we had a blast!  We met up with my friend, Lisa, and her two boys, Dylan and Jake.  As an extra-nice bonus, one of my co-workers, Amy, decided to join us for a bit, too.  She has two boys (Spencer and Payton), right around Dylan and Jake's age, so it was 4 little boys and Ava. :)  Within minutes of getting there, Ava and Dylan were holding hands, walking together.  I have NO idea how that happened so quickly, but for some reason, I'm not surprised.  In fact, it reminded me a lot of the first time they met...Dylan was maybe 2 weeks old, so Ava would have been 6 weeks old.  Before we knew it,

Two Little Princesses

Every little girl loves stickers, it seems.  This mom is not so crazy about them - just because they turn up in odd places, or in the laundry, and by then, it might be too late!  The other day I found a tiny bone sticker in our office, right next to the door.  Makes me wonder how long it had been there and I hadn't noticed! So, when my parents send Ava holiday cards, I have mixed feelings when they always come with stickers.  BUT, because Ava enjoys sticking them on things, I just try to get over it.  Sigh.  This week, it was a bit contained, because as soon as her Easter card arrived, she immediately stuck both pages of stickers to the card.  I found her trying to put one on her leg when she ran out of room on the card, but that was the only oddball.  Gramma Karen and Grampa Doug - these are for you! I love, love, love how Ava falls asleep, right in the middle of what she's doing, no matter how uncomfortable it might be.  This book that she was reading is one o
